Made2Measure
For weddings or special events, it's a collaboration between you and me. I mix your personality and style with my aesthetics.
My current Ready2Wear designs can also be made to your size subject to fabric availability.
So how does it work?
1. The first contact
You can contact me via this website, my Instagram account @ruscoebustenerakirby, or via email at ruscoe@ruscoeartfashion.com. In your email, it would be helpful if you include the following details:
-
What type of garment do you need and the occasion it is for?
-
The date when you need it by.
-
What is your budget for the garment?
-
Any special request e.g. no sleeveless, no slits, etc.
-
You can also add any images for inspiration (please note that I can not and do not copy designs but I can take inspiration from it).
Based on our exchange of messages, we will then schedule for initial consultation and measurements if we both agree to proceed.
2. Our first consultation
We will get to know each other and I will be asking you some questions regarding your personal style and how you want to feel and look like on your special event. I might take your measurements during this time depending on our conversation.
3. The sketches
Based on our consultation, I will sketch two to three designs for you to choose from. This stage is crucial and this is where we collaborate and marry your style and my aesthetic. We will edit the sketches as we go until we reach the agreed design.
Please note that the sketches are 2D designs and they are drawn on a perfect figure shape. The final garment may slightly turn out different from the actual garment due to the fit of the garment and the agreed or chosen materials, especially fabric. Any changes made along the way will of course be consulted and agreed. But don't worry, there will be several fittings and several consultations on the materials and fabric as well.
4. The Agreement Form
Once we have agreed on the final sketch, I then email you the agreement form. Please read the agreement form very carefully and let me know if you have any questions. Signing the agreement form is binding. You will have to pay 50% as downpayment. This will secure the design, the time and workload allocation for your piece, and the materials and fabric.
5. Fittings, fittings, fittings...
Normally, there will be three fittings. First is a mock fitting with a calico (test fabric) to see if all measurements are correct), second is with the final fabric and the last is with the final garment. Depending on the outcome of the fittings, there might be more as agreed. During this time, I will be presenting some fabric and material options for you to choose from.
5. Final fitting and collection
Final fitting is when you fit the finished garment. You can bring your stylist with you or the accessories and shoes you will be wearing with the garment. If everything is good and you are satisfied and happy, then I will hand you the garment and you will have to pay the remaining balance.
Note: Your shape and weight may fluctuate as we do the fittings, especially on the final one so keep this in mind. If you will need the garments altered after the final fitting and pick up, there will be extra charges for labour and costs.
